A.J. Who ?

When I was at a work conference I was on my way to the ladies room when someone said "Did you see A.J . is out there?"  Of course my response was "A.J. Who??"

This giant skinny guy was none other than A.J. Green the Wide Receiver of the Cincinnati Bengals! Since I really don't follow the Bengals I had no clue and in fact told him that.   He in turn hugged me and said, "Well you better start believin'...
                                           Of course I will A. J. --- of course I will.

My dear nephew turned 16 this year so I knew it required a special card to mark the occasion. Since he'd be getting his drivers license soon, a car stamp just fit the bill. What's better than Snoopy driving Woodstock around in a convertible?  I added a tape measure stamped on gold and colored a cardstock buckle to frame his age. Of course I mailed it with confetti inside to his surprise!

This year was my first time seeing some of these day lilies bloom in my yard.  Alot of these I purchased and planted last year from various day lily farms.

I have to say I am not a bit disappointed in my selections.
One is more unique than the other.
I found it very hard to even pick a favorite...
This one reminds me of a delicate paper flower made from tissue paper when I was a teenager.
The lilac and purple colors are very hard to find - I am trying to add them to my collection.
If I had to guess I'd say I have 40 or 50 different ones - I try to add 5 or 10 every year.
Stayed tuned for more to come!

I finally found some time to post some photos of the awesome daylilies blooming in my gardens right now.
I have lots of different types and colors so there is never a boring spot anywhere this time if year.
For some reason I am drawn to the ruffled edges on alot of them - this peach one has layers of petals making it so dimensional.
This is one of the harder to find colors... purple.  They are scarce or really expensive!
I love the yellow center of this one called Ruby Spider.  Of course I try to keep mine marked with names.
One of the palest lilies I have.  I am guessing I have about 40 different daylily varieties...so stayed tuned for more garden beauties to come.

We let the two kittens in the garage the other day to play.  They like to explore and hunt for mice.  Cinders the black one is a year old now. Hope is about two months behind him  - but in size she is extremely behind.
We were watching TV and heard a HUGE CRASH... which lead us to finding this...

This is looking down to the garage floor where the little darling Cinders had knocked over an entire bakers rack full of stamps and scrapbooking supplies in storage drawers.

This is a close up of the top drawers and storage that was on top.  Mind you this rack is at least 5 feet tall and the sweet little darling (NOT) had to climb his way up to see what he was missing.

I know it's hard to believe I could be so mad at these adorable inseparable little buddies...
but I am.  Well maybe not!

It's hard to believe this sweet little girl with the Sad Sack Eyes has grown into this.....

She is such a sweetheart -
but don't let the Sad Sack Eyes fool ya - she's taller than the kitchen counters and will easily help herself to whatever is there if you aren't looking!!

I can't wait for the arrival of spring...  I can't wait to see the sights of spring...
The baby birds waiting for their mommas to come....
My potting bench ready for creating garden pots and fairy gardens...
The sweet smell of flower blooms....
and the first signs of hot summer...alliums.
Are you waiting too??

Since it's still cold and dreary outside I thought we needed a little burst of  inspiration in the form of summer's flowers.  Can't you just smell the fragrance as you look at this photo?
Hurry up spring!

Failed Attempts

After many failed attempts to get some photos of Christmas at our home I've decided to I just need to face the reality that life gets in the way.   Here it is mid-January and again I haven't posted in a month.  I need to either do better or give up!  I am faced with two questions - would you miss me if I quit blogging ? and Would I miss it if I quit blogging?
