I'm linking up to Beyond the Picket Fence for the Thrifty Thursday Under $100 project.
I wanted a beach bathroom and since the frosted window is in the front of the house I wanted something to give it a bit more privacy.
I started with a yard sale shutter for $10.  A little magic by adding a board to each side to make it fit was all it needed.

A couple coats of white paint later and a lot of distressing made it perfect for me.

Painting each of the shutter slats was quite time consuming even though I wasn't being particular since I wanted to distress it. Come to think of it I used alot of sandpaper too!

The final results are exactly what I wanted.
I already had the shelve above the window and also painted it white.  It's a nice way to display my vintage beach pieces.
This beach sign I made using a piece of a friends roof trim. Free... just added the word beach!
Thanks for readng my blog and hanging in there with me while I went through a rough patch the past few months.  I plan to get back to blogging and posting garden and life photos more often.

  1. Margy you did a wonderful job on the shutters. I love distressed stuff too. They are just the thing for your bathroom. Have a great week and weekend ahead.

  2. You are so talented - I can't believe you found that shutter for $10!! What a find!!

  3. Love the shutters...always enjoy remodelholic type projects!
