Scenes from the Newport, KY Garden Walk

This past weekend I spent a little girlfriend time at the annual Newport Garden Walk. We try to go every year as we are all gardeners as well as old friends. Not only is it great to see other peoples' garden features, but the neighborhoods you walk through are also enjoyable. Most of the gardens on the tour were in yards of homes almost 100 years old and some older. I love the architecture...

St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of all animals blessed this garden.

Pops of color here and there...

and my favorite begonia, escargot... A little hydrangea love....

And a gargoyle "guard" for every garden...

Love the painted lady...

and yet more gargoyles. Can ya tell I love em?

A unique wall arrangement...

and the most beautiful pond in the side courtyard.

I have more to share - hopefully tomorrow if Blogger plays better than it did today!

More Summer Flash Floods

We're experiencing severe thunderstorms here today and the result is amazing.
It looks like the new vegetable garden might wash away...

To the left of this photo above is my shade garden and the pool is my neighbors below us.

There are rocks bordering this garden - or else it would have washed out also...
Looks like we won't be cutting grass for awhile!

Daily Garden Walk

Everyday I take Gypsy for a walk in the yard.  We stop and enjoy each of the gardens and flowers.  Well, I do, she just likes to dig holes or bite at bees.  I take alot of photos and plan to share them with you as I go.  With many gardens, things are always changing and it never looks the same from week to week, sometime day to day.  Hope you enjoy the walks.
Gypsy is waiting on you to follow her...

Just bought this day lily last year - and love it!

Rudbeckia Cherokee Sunset

This plant stand was a thank you gift last fall from my dear friends Bobby & Judy -
Isn't is perfect!  They know me so well.

A Garden Walk

Lupine - not very hardy in our area, at least not for me...
Last fall I transplanted a ton of lillies to a back border garden along the woods.  They are doing well!

A perfect day!
