My Garden Girl

Gypsy is such a people dog that no matter what I am doing she has to be right there with me.  Everyday we take a walk all along the property line, smelling everything, and checking out if anything is new.  She is the NOSIEST dog I have ever seen.  Since she isn't quite 2 years old she still hasn't mastered the art of coming back to me and therefore, has to be on a leash.  Actually she downright ignores me when she is outside and I call her to me which is unlike the last Great Dane I had who never left the backyard!

This photo taken beside my grandfathers hayrake almost makes it look like we are starving her.  Trust me we're not.  Even though it looks like ribs are showing she is just long and lean.  She weighs 110 pounds now and can really throw her weight around.  She's pulled me down on occasion!

This photo puts it into perspective!  This is my older sister standing with Gypsy on the pool deck...being nosey!

HOW I SPENT MY WEEKEND

This weekend was the first weekend in quite a long time that we didn't have rain!  So I spent it doing my favorite things...
My potting bench sits right off the patio on the back of my house and that location is why its my favorite thing in all the gardens.  When I'm not using it for spring potting, it gets a good cleaning, a little bit of unique pots all its own and then it becomes a beverage station at our parties.
This is probably my next favorite thing...lots of color.
Lots of plant shopping!
Lots of work!

I have lots of pots for annuals both on the patio and on the pool deck.  The colors make me smile!
Its so worth the effort!  I'll show you some of my containers as they fill in a bit.
And its worth the wait!

Make it Monday

My stamp club has a challenge each month that includes an item to be used on an ATC (Artistic Trading Card) and a stamp we all have to use the same image from for a card.  At the meeting we all share and then swap cards.
This is what I had to work with (from my friend Barb) who provided it at last month's meeting.

And here is my results:
I used the ticket for my "ticket to paradise"  and for the dress form I mounted an old sewing pattern on purple cardstock with Modge Podge, then mounted it on a teal card, rounded corners and then cut out the dress form, gave it a little bling and popped it on.  Faux sewed the left side and added a set of buttons, one teal layered with a deeper purple.  I'm happy with how it turned out - I hope whomever draws my number likes it too!

THE RAINS BOUNTY

I planted this clematis 2 years ago in memory of my father in law.  It's just off the patio and I think of him everytime I look at it and I know his love is shining down on us.

SIGHTS OF CONNECTICUT - PART TWO

Sorry for the long delay in posting more about my Connecticut trip but blogger wasn't playing nice!

Here are some more scenes from my visit northeast - these were taken at my dear friend Mary Ann's house.  This old set of wheels were on the edge of her woods - abandoned long ago.  And of course you can see more of those huge rocks.  I told you they were everywhere.
This is Mary Ann's view across her road looking out the windows of her new craft room.  Isn't it the picture of serenity?  I would love to wake up to this view.  While I was there the horses were playful and at times working with their riders in training.  It was so neat to watch.
This is my friends house - the slanted portion of the roof is a new addition of which I am so jealous.
It's all one great big craft room and a new porch to boot.  Of course there were snow flurries while I was there and now the landscaping is finally in the works since its warming up there.

And how could I not post a photo of "the room" as it's called. There are still cabinets and a counter to be installed under the windows in the front and this is still in the stages of organizing all the many, many things a crafter can have.  Hoarding comes to mind! I know I am guilty of saving beautiful papers just waiting for the right project to come along.

This is one of Mary Ann's cards....totally worth all the hoarding!
Luv ya snake...
