This past week Miss Gypsy was at the back patio door just barking away at something she thought shouldn't be there.  I couldn't imagine what is was.  Way out in the back yard almost into the woods was the culprit.  A huge tom turkey scratching around in the leaves looking for acorns and whatever he could find.  In the 18 years we've lived here this is the first time we've had a turkey. Oh, we have our share of bunnies, chipmunk, squirrels and deer.  But never a turkey.  Heck one time we even had a skunk hanging right outside the back patio door. Just never a turkey.  My husband was in his glory.  Now we have a "pet" turkey - and we have to put corn feed out every few days for it.  He shows up every evening about 5pm looking to eat.
I think I'll name him.

  1. That is so funny! I've never heard of anyone having a pet turkey before!

  2. Wow he is a brave turkey, most are afraid of hunters getting them when they wonder out of the fields and woods.
